Briana Hente has lived in Bay County for 25 years. She earned her Master’s in Criminology from Florida State University in 2012. Prior to entering the field of substance abuse and mental health she was an elementary school teacher. She was nominated as Bay County teacher of the year in her final school year. Briana has been with Florida Springs Wellness and Recovery Center since December of 2020. Her journey at Florida Springs began as an intern for the Master’s Program in Clinical Counseling at Troy University and was then hired on as a full time therapist in February 2021. She is currently a registered intern with the state of Florida working on her LMHC requirements. During this time she has assisted in the continued development of the outpatient program and has also been certified in trauma informed care. She facilitates a trauma informed care group that is available to all patients at Florida Springs. She is currently the clinical supervisor. Briana feels she was called to substance abuse treatment because of her experience as both an individual that has struggled with addiction and an individual with loved ones in active addiction. She is in an active program of recovery.
When not at work, she is with her faithful furry sidekick, Rossi. Part of her own personal therapeutic processing involves expressive art therapy. She frequently paints, writes and immerses herself in music and dance. She can frequently be found at her church engaged in service work and fellowship. Although much of her time is spent in the Bay County community, she enjoys traveling within the United States and internationally.
